Wednesday, May 14, 2014 Green Mountain Council Freemasons worked the Entered Apprentice Scouter Degree on Eagle Scouts and "triple" brothers, Konnor Newton and Trevor Newton of Morrisville at Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 8 in Morrisville. "Triple" brothers in that they were born brothers, they are brothers in the Boy Scouts of America's National Honor Society - Order of the Arrow and now brothers in Freemasonry. Their father Kevin Newton and Grandfather Allen Newton, both Past Masters of Mt. Vernon, could not have been more proud. The boy's 5th Great-grandfather Sewell Newton's name is on the Lodge Charter (seen hanging on the wall in the pictures above). Did he ever imagine that seven generations later, his Great, Great, Great, Great, Great-grandsons would be invested with the Lambskin in his own precious Lodge? The Scouter Degree Team consisted of; WM - Kevin Newton, SW - Dave McAllister, JW - Dave Schuler, SD - Sandy Karstens, JD - Richard Matheson, Chap - Tim Collins, SS - Jon Hosford, JS - Isaac Merriam.
